This September, I was honored to team up with UN Women and the Global Innovation Coalition for Change, a unique alliance with 27 partners from the private sector, non-profit organizations and academic institutions, to host the launch of the Gender Innovation Principles. We gathered to discuss gender responsive approach to provide organizations withe a benchmark for how to included women and women's needs throughout the innovation life cycle. I was joined by UN Women Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, alongside whom I was honored to ring the closing bell of the NASDAQ. This was a pleasant change of pace from my normal New York Fashion Week schedule or presenting my collection via runway show. I was pleased to be joined by my two beautiful daughters, Ming Lee and Aoki Lee, who very much enjoyed the series of panels and fireside chats including President of Essence Communications Inc., Michelle M. Ebanks and Global Deputy Vice Chair of Transaction Advisory Services at EY, Julie Hood. These luminaries offered key insights on the importance of women being involved in innovation at all levels of our society. You can learn more at unwomen.org!
