The art gallery setting for my Fall/Winter 2016 presentation was inspired by "The Thomas Crown Affair” showcasing this season’s textile patterns on canvas. The process of manipulating tweeds into art was exciting and new way to highlight the menswear influence in my collection.
I continued to explore modern-day dressing through a collection of fundamental styles that play with menswear tailoring and the female form. Drawing inspiration from the “The Thomas Crown Affair”, both classic and modern versions dominate this season with lean, elongated silhouettes. Working with piping detail gave a tailored edge to Italian wool suiting, outerwear and sleeveless cocktail dresses. Playing with menswear textiles inspired the idea of sheered shearling in a chevron pattern, giving a luxurious feel to our classic moto jacket. Slim leather trousers and sheath dresses spliced with architectural angles give a modern edge to the female form.
